Prior to starting Cross Cut Church, my husband and I immersed ourselves with CD's from The Purpose Driven Church Planting Ministry. And what a blessing these have been. The reason I say this is that so many of the things that they have covered were are experiencing.

For instance, one of the things that they covered was that some of the people that begin with you, some of the people who help you launch the church will not stay with you. They are like the scaffelling used by construction workers when building a building. The scaffelling is used only in the building process and after the building is completed, it is no longer needed and it is moved to another job.

Other people are the frame of the building. As long as the building is there, so is the frame.

This got me thinking about relationships in our lives.
* There are people who are like that scaffelling. They are brought into our lives for a purpose, but when complete, they are taken away.
* There are people who are like the frame. They are always there no matter what. No matter the storms you weather. No matter the cost. No matter the weight that they are asked to bare. They are there until they die.

When we understand this concept, and how God is soveriegn in moving people in and out of our lives, it tends to make the loss easier to handle

There is another side to this. At times we are the ones God choses to move out of someones life. The purpose we had in their life may have been fulfilled and it is time for us to move on too. So when your feeling less and less desirious to be around certain people, take it from me... It may be time to walk away and let someone else step in.

Remember what Paul said in 1 Corinthians 3 "Paul plants, Apollos waters, but its God who brings the increase." We can do only what we are called to do and then we must let the rest up to God.
